Home Page

Welcome to my page on animals looking for new homes.

For one reason or another you have found yourself needing to rehome a pet, or perhaps you have found a stray that you are trying to place. In either event, the information contained on this page is to help you towards that goal. On this page you will find some very helpful articles on the best way to find homes, why you should charge an adoption fee, links to low cost spay/neuter resources and some message boards you can post ads on.

Should you rehome

1. If you purchased your pet through a breeder, you should contact the breeder first before trying to rehome the animal. Some breeders have you sign in the contract that if you can no longer keep the animal, that it is returned to the breeder.

2. If you adopted your pet through a rescue or a shelter group, you should check to see whether there is a clause in the adoption form which requires you to return the animal to the rescue or shelter group. Many times rescues offer to take back their animals to rehome them.

Rescue groups that offer "courtesy ads"

Some rescue groups will allow you to place a courtesy ad on their website. Many will require the animal be spayed/neutered and UTD on shots. Although these are ones that I am aware of who have courtesy posting, you should reach out to other rescues in your area to see if they will post an ad for you.
